Our Dogs
Obviously a labor of pure love for my wife. These dogs are her pride and joy. She puts lots and lots of energy into caring for them.
In July of 1998 we brought Cagney home. Cagney is my wife's first dog, and I think she is the perfect dog. She is 50% slobber and 100% love. And, yes
that makes 150% dog! Cagney is not a "large" Rottweiler, weighing in at 100 pounds she is average size for a female. Cagney is a ham and loves theatrics.
She is amazingly expressive and desires non-stop play. Sometimes I think she can almost speak English. Cagney's favorite form of expression is KISSING!
Cagney obviously needed a playmate, so a year later, after some months looking, we found Moose.
Moose is a black lab who is a "rescue" dog. He was terribly shy and to this day is a rather stoic dog, but he has come a long way. Moose has hip dysplasia, and we think it bothers him sometimes. Currently he is doing very well and seems to be on the upswing after some weeks of being significantly less playful. Moose is a dog of deep emotion and immense intelligence, though I would say he is an introvert. He is an exceptional, fiercely driven hunter and he is extraordinarily persistent in what he sets his mind to. |
